When a trial or subscription ends

What happens to your Corkles, and how to get going again.

Updated 31 October 2026 · 2 minute read

Nothing disappears without warning. Here's what happens, and how to carry on.

When your free trial ends

You'll see Your free trial has ended. Choose Subscribe and carry on, or Just let me look around.

If you don't subscribe, your account becomes view-only for 30 days. You can still open your Corkles, read every note and export them. A banner counts down the days, and we email you 7 days before your Corkles are deleted. Choose Choose a plan any time to pick up where you left off.

If you cancel

You keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for. A banner shows the date, with Keep my subscription if you change your mind.

After that:

  1. 90 days view-only. You can open, read and export everything. We email you along the way.
  2. 12 months archived. Your Corkles are stored but you can't open them, and your guests see This review is paused. Choose Restart and restore my Corkles to bring everything back.
  3. Deleted after that.

If a payment doesn't go through

You'll see Your last payment didn't go through. Choose Update card to fix it. Everything keeps working for up to 14 days while Stripe tries again. After that your account becomes view-only until it's paid.

What view-only means

  • You can open every Corkle and read every note.
  • Pin it and Circle it are locked, and replies are paused.
  • You can't make new Corkles or change clients.
  • You can still export your notes.
  • Your guests can still read every note, but can't add new ones.

To get going again, choose Choose a plan or Restart on the grey strip at the top of a Corkle.
