Corkle a PDF

Brochures, proposals, menus and pitch decks get the same pinned feedback as your web pages. Upload a PDF and your client can pin notes and circle things on the exact spot, page by page. They still don't need an account.

Make a PDF Corkle

1. 1Choose New Corkle, then PDF.
2. 2Drop your PDF in, or choose Choose PDF.
3. 3We check the file straight away: that it's a PDF, the number of pages, the size, and that it fits in your storage.
4. 4Check the name, pick a client if you like, and choose Create PDF Corkle.

While your PDF gets ready

We get each page ready for pins in your browser. You'll see Preparing your PDF, which page it's on and roughly how long is left. It usually takes a few seconds a page.

Changed your mind part-way? Choose Cancel, then Delete PDF, or Keep preparing to carry on. When it's finished, the new Corkle opens straight away.

Move between pages

Use Previous and Next at the bottom of the screen to turn the page, or the left and right arrow keys on a computer. To jump straight to a page, choose Pages. The little numbers show how many open notes each page has.

Single pages or spreads

Choose Single to see one page at a time, or Spread to see 2 pages side by side, like the printed version. Each page or spread fits your screen automatically.

Zoom in

Use Zoom in, Zoom out and Fit at the bottom of the screen, or pinch on a phone or trackpad. On a computer you can also hold Ctrl (or Cmd on a Mac) and scroll. In spread view both pages zoom together. When you're zoomed in, scroll or drag in Browse to move around.

Leave notes on a page

Pin it, Circle it, replies and Mark completed work just as they do on a web page. Every note shows which page it's on, and the notes list is grouped by page. Click a note in the list to jump to its page. See Pin and circle feedback on a page.

On a phone

Your client can review a PDF on their phone too, with Previous, Pages and Next at the bottom. The first time, we suggest turning the phone sideways or opening the link on a computer. They can still pin notes either way. Choose Got it, or Don't show this again.

Download the original PDF

You and your guests can download the original file with Download PDF at the top of the screen. You can also choose Download PDF from the menu on the Corkle's card.

Got a new version?

Start a new version as a new Corkle, so the notes on the old one stay exactly as they are.

1. 1Upload the new PDF with New Corkle, then PDF, using the same file name as before.
2. 2Corkle asks Is this a new version? Choose Make it version 2, or Keep it separate.
3. 3The new version shows a strip at the top linking back to the old one, with how many notes it had. The old version shows that a newer one is ready.

Storage

PDFs count towards your storage, which you can see in Settings under Storage. PDF Corkles are included in the free trial, the beta and the founder plan.
